Anandwan work and meditation retreats, India, 2008.
10 to 20 November Somnath silent retreat
20 November to 8 December Anandwan work retreat.
Over more than fifty years a community of society's outcasts have been
drawn together by the loving vision of Anandwan. When we first came upon
this Forest of Bliss we saw it as a rare jewel, an embodiment of compassion;
a vision of the future. So we want to offer the opportunity for others
to experience the wonder, the empowerment, and the beauty of this precious
place.
We are very happy to be offering this retreat for the 5th time. 3 weeks
of working and living in Anandwan; a vibrant and inspiring community of leprosy
patients. If you are interested in opening your heart and expanding your
mind, please join us.
The work retreat will be preceded by a silent meditation retreat in Anandwan's agricultural lands. You are encouraged to attend this retreat, as we find it adds to the experience of Anandwan, but it is not compulsory.
Also if you wish to only attend the 10 day meditation retreat this is fine, simply check the appropriate box on the registration form.
The work retreat will be facilitated by Zohar Lavie and Nathan Glyde.

Sponsored Beach Clean with Mandala Trust, Ayrmer cove near Ringwood, South Devon
6 December 2008
Fight the fear of a financial crisis with acts of generosity - become a sponsor and/or participate to support the Sareka Project in Cambodia.
During the day we aim to clean up a beautiful spot along the South Devon coastline owned by the
National Trust, have a nice day on the beach in the company of lovely people and hopefully make a difference to the lives of people less privileged and fortunate than us.
If you'd like to come along consider either asking friends and colleagues to sponsor you to participate in the beach clean up, or you could sponsor yourself. We will meet at the car park above Ayrmer Cove at 12:30 pm. Please contact us at least a week before to let us know where you will come from so we can help organise car shares. Please bring lunch to share and we will provide hot drinks and soup.
Clean up an English beach to help make a difference to people in Cambodia living on and from a dump site!
Sareka is a Cambodian Project in Sihanoukville in Cambodia and friends of Sanghaseva; Mandala Trust funded this project from its very beginning. The project is based in an area where lack of opportunity and poverty are huge problems. It is common for children to be involved in criminal activity and they are often vulnerable to sexual abuse.
Sareka is working directly with a community of people living and scavenging on the Sihanoukville rubbish tip, in Sangkat District, Battrang, Cambodia. The project offers basic healthcare, education, legal aid and is creating a paper-recycling project to provide employment off the tip.
An application made by Mandala Trust for Core funding on behalf of Sareka to the Consortium for Street Children was unfortunately unsuccessful earlier this year as the project was considered as too new. Sareka is still young, but already has been able to improve the conditions for residents of the Sihanoukville dump site in many ways.
Every amount is greatly appreciated - even small sums of money can go a long way in Cambodia.
If you would like to get more information or to join us on the day, sponsor someone or just donate to this project please contact us : kirsten.kratz@yahoo.co.uk or janeyfr@yahoo.co.uk.

Reforestation sangha work week, Scotland
28 March to 4 April 2009
We are pleased to be offering another work week in cooperation with Trees for Life, a Scottish charity committed to reforestation.
We will spend a week in the ancient Caledonian forest of northern Scotland exploring the dharma, practicing simplicity and working together on the land.
This involves about 6 hours a day of tree planting and is a great opportunity to make a difference to Scotland’s degraded environment through working in some of the most beautiful and remote areas of the Highlands.
The focus of this week is to explore what happens when like-minded people come together with the intention of bringing a positive change to the world. This time is an experiment of practicing the dharma in action.
