Reforestation sangha work week, Scotland This retreat is an opportunity to explore our
relationship with the natural world. By bringing new growth to a barren
landscape and deepening our relationship with life, we nourish both the
world that appears outside of ourselves, and the world that we feel within
us. We will spend our days working in the extraordinary
beauty of the highlands of Scotland. In previous years many of us felt ourselves
naturally fall into a deep connection with nature. To support this we
spend some time of each day working in silence. Although Trees for Life do value and promote a spiritual aspect in their work it is only this week that has the focus and support of like-minded people on a spiritual path. The week will be facilitated by Ian Davidson a long time supporter of Trees for Life and focaliser of their work weeks. The role of a facilitator at a SanghaSeva event is different from both a teacher or a manager on a silent meditation retreat. The facilitator encourages the group towards exploration, but does not lead the way, nor necessarily have more experience. Also they will be able to help with practical matters, but the responsibility for carrying out these matters is shared by all the group.
